FOLDPOP
1. Introduction
Welcome to FOLDPOP.
FOLDPOP is a daily reflection application that allows users to discover meaningful messages and explore their thoughts through an optional AI-powered conversation feature called Go Deeper.
This Privacy Policy explains how information may be processed when you use FOLDPOP, including its daily reflection features, Go Deeper, saved content, subscription services, and customer support.
FOLDPOP does not currently require users to create an account in order to use the application.
2. Information You Provide
Depending on how you use FOLDPOP, information may include:
- Reflections and other text you choose to write.
- Questions or responses submitted through Go Deeper.
- Conversation content necessary to provide AI-powered reflections.
- Messages or reflections you choose to save on your device.
- Information you voluntarily provide when contacting FOLDPOP Support.
FOLDPOP does not require your name, email address, phone number, or physical address to use the core application or Go Deeper.
Please do not include sensitive personal information in your reflections unless you are comfortable having that information processed as described in this policy.
3. AI-Powered Reflections — Go Deeper
FOLDPOP includes an optional AI-powered reflection feature called Go Deeper.
Go Deeper is activated only when you choose to use the feature and submit a reflection.
When you use Go Deeper, information necessary to provide the feature is transmitted from the application to FOLDPOP's backend infrastructure and then to OpenAI, our artificial intelligence service provider.
The information transmitted may include:
- Your Daily Deep Message.
- The category associated with that message.
- The reflection, question, or other text you submit.
- A conversation identifier used to continue the same reflection conversation.
OpenAI processes this information to generate the AI-powered response displayed inside FOLDPOP.
For continuing conversations, FOLDPOP uses an identifier associated with the previous AI response so that OpenAI can maintain the relevant conversation context.
The current implementation requests storage of response data by OpenAI in order to support conversation continuity. Information processed by OpenAI may therefore be retained according to OpenAI's applicable data handling and retention practices.
FOLDPOP does not intentionally transmit your name, email address, phone number, advertising identifier, or a registered FOLDPOP account identifier as part of a Go Deeper request.
Because the content of a reflection is written freely by the user, you should avoid entering personal or sensitive information that you do not want processed by an external AI service.
AI-generated responses are intended for personal reflection and general informational purposes only. They are not professional medical, psychological, legal, financial, or other professional advice.
FOLDPOP and Go Deeper do not predict the future.
4. Saved Messages and Reflection History
FOLDPOP allows users to save certain messages and revisit reflection history.
Information used for these features may be stored locally on your device.
Locally stored information is separate from information that may be processed through Go Deeper by external service providers.
Removing the application may remove information that is stored only on your device.
5. Subscriptions and Payments
FOLDPOP offers optional monthly and yearly auto-renewable subscriptions through FOLDPOP+.
Subscription purchases, billing, renewals, cancellations, and payment processing are handled through Apple's App Store and StoreKit services.
FOLDPOP does not require you to enter payment card information directly into the application and does not directly receive your full payment card details.
Subscription and transaction status may be processed as necessary to determine whether FOLDPOP+ features should be available on your device.
You can manage or cancel an App Store subscription through your Apple account subscription settings.
6. How Information Is Used
Information may be processed where necessary to:
- Provide FOLDPOP's daily reflection experience.
- Generate AI-powered responses through Go Deeper.
- Maintain the context of an ongoing Go Deeper conversation.
- Maintain saved messages and reflection history where applicable.
- Verify access to FOLDPOP+ features.
- Respond to customer support requests.
- Protect the reliability and security of the service.
FOLDPOP does not use the content of your Go Deeper reflections for third-party advertising or cross-app advertising tracking.
7. Third-Party Services
FOLDPOP relies on third-party service providers for certain functionality.
OpenAI
FOLDPOP uses OpenAI to provide the AI-powered Go Deeper experience.
When you choose to use Go Deeper, the content described above is transmitted to OpenAI through FOLDPOP's backend so that an AI-generated reflection can be produced and, where applicable, the conversation can continue.
Information processed by OpenAI is subject to OpenAI's applicable privacy, security, and data handling practices.
Vercel
FOLDPOP uses backend infrastructure hosted through Vercel. Go Deeper requests pass through this infrastructure before being sent to the AI service.
Information processed through this infrastructure may be subject to Vercel's applicable data handling and infrastructure practices.
Apple
FOLDPOP uses Apple's App Store and StoreKit services to provide and manage FOLDPOP+ subscriptions and purchases.
Apple processes payment and transaction information according to Apple's applicable terms and privacy practices.
8. Data Retention and Deletion
Messages, saved content, and reflection history stored locally by FOLDPOP may remain on your device until you delete the relevant information or remove the application.
When you use Go Deeper, conversation content is transmitted through FOLDPOP's backend infrastructure and to OpenAI.
The current implementation requests storage of OpenAI response data to support continuation of the reflection conversation. Information processed by OpenAI may therefore be retained according to OpenAI's applicable data retention practices.
FOLDPOP does not currently require a registered user account. Because Go Deeper conversations are not intentionally associated by FOLDPOP with a registered FOLDPOP account, our ability to identify a particular conversation as belonging to a particular individual may be limited.

9. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, applicable privacy laws may provide rights concerning your personal information.
These rights may include requesting access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, or information about how personal data is processed.
Where processing is based on consent, you may also have the right to withdraw that consent, subject to applicable law.

10. Sensitive Information
Go Deeper allows users to enter free-form text. FOLDPOP does not require you to provide sensitive personal information in order to use this feature.
Please avoid entering health information, financial information, passwords, identification numbers, precise location information, or other highly sensitive personal information into your reflections unless you understand that the content will be processed as described in this Privacy Policy.
11. Children's Privacy
FOLDPOP is not specifically designed for children.
Users should not submit personal information about children through Go Deeper.
If you believe that information relating to a child has been submitted inappropriately, please contact FOLDPOP Support.
12. Security
We aim to use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information processed through FOLDPOP.
Communication with FOLDPOP's backend and external services is transmitted using secure network connections where supported.
However, no method of electronic transmission, processing, or storage can guarantee absolute security.
13. International Processing
The service providers used by FOLDPOP may process information in countries other than the country where you live.
When information is processed internationally, applicable service providers are responsible for handling information in accordance with their contractual obligations and applicable data protection requirements.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to FOLDPOP, its features, third-party services, or applicable legal requirements.
When this policy is updated, the revised version will be published on this page and the "Last updated" date will be changed accordingly.
